Social change occurs when the values, norms, and/or beliefs change over a period of time. These changes will cause either a positive or negative consequence. I believe that social change is a fundamental part of being in the human service field. As a human service professional, our goal is to make a positive impact and ignite social change. Walden has worked hard to provide a program that integrates social change, through A Vision of Social Change. Through this program social change is not something that is just discussed but something that is put into action ("Walden 2020: A Vision for Social Change ", p. 9). This allows us as students to not only learn about social change but be a part of change.
