Eller defines economics as the practices and beliefs about how people obtain wealth through the consumption and transferring of goods and services (Eller, 2006). Economics is usually intertwined with politics, the way in which is activities of governing a society (Eller, 2006), and there are many governments that are corrupt. Most government officials are well-off due to most of them having the simple advantage of wealth to place them in that position. Therefore, most of these officials try to maintain or increase their wealth by implementing policies and laws that affect and/or exploit mostly the lower class whom most of which are living in poverty. We see this occurring in many places especially Central America.When people are aware that they are being exploited, they become angry and they may form a group to protest against the system. However, some of these protest can lead to violence on both ends. A recent example of this is with the miners protesting in Bolivia, whom were fed up and upset with the police killing some of the miners during the protest. They retaliated by taking the vice minister, whom is in charge of domestic affairs in Bolivia, Rodolfo Illanes, hostage for seven hours which they tortured and ended up murdering (Reel, 2017). The dictionary defines education as obtaining general knowledge which in turns allows one to make judgement and reasoning allowing for one to become “mature”. It is important to obtain all types of knowledge available rather than just one narrow view. For example, one should not only learn about the bible and master every verse in the bible but rather be open to other religious books and read them as well. Through obtaining all of the knowledge available, it will allow one to be less ignorant and instead more understanding of others. Therefore, all areas in which we obtain knowledge from, such as schools, media, interpersonal relationships, etc., should provide all available knowledge which could potentially decrease violence. An example of which education helped stop violence was in Northern Ireland in 1976, where they were on the brink of a civil war. Many Northern Ireland women, men and youth helped set up multiple peace groups which they traveled across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (Maguire, 2016).
