Analysis Of Two Seperate Occassions

Decent Essays
On two seperate occassions this past week mistakes were made during lessons. I made a mistake on an assessment paper and copied the wrong side of the quiz and Mrs. Doss made a mistake and copied the wrong set of words for the entire class during word study. It really helped having 2 people in the classroom so new copies could be made and brought in ASAP. We were both able to laugh about it later in the day and realized we both were having a rough morning. I know that in a normal classroom you wont always have 2 people or a teachers aide to be able to fix mistakes. So being on your 'A' game is a must at all times. I also know that mistakes will be made we are all human and they will happen from time to time.

+Mrs. Doss left for New York early

Wide spectrum of abilities: Having a inclusive class with a wide range of children and abilities could also cause a problem when supporting learning activities, ensuring that all children are engaged, involved and fully understand the task that has been set. This can be dealt with by splitting the children in to ability based groups and providing the appropriate work for each group and setting achievable targets. By encouraging the higher ability children to help those struggling will help keep the class working at a similar pace.…

    Analysis Of Two Kinds

    • 735 Words
    • 3 Pages

“Two Kinds” is a story based on a mother and daughter, and how they had their own opinions on how the daughter should be. The mother wanted the best for her daughter, but she also wanted her daughter become something she wasn’t, a child prodigy. The daughter tried to please her mother but in the end she just wanted to be herself, to stick to her own mindset, not her mother's. She tried everything in beginning that her mother wanted her to do, but later grew out of trying to please her mom because she believed it to be unrealistic. She knew she just wasn’t the child that could become a prodigy, at least she didn’t believe that she could be.…

I always have followed the saying “if you work hard in life now you will not have to work as hard later.” This saying applies not only to how I work during school now, but how I participate in activities outside of school. To excel in what you want to achieve in life, I believe you need to put in the best effort and try your best in whatever you do. Living by this idea has helped me become a leader in the things I do. It has helped me put others at the same standard as myself and it helps me show my character.…

If I can see where they made the mistake in their work, I just point out the mistake so they know where exactly they went wrong. This process furthers student learning by giving them immediate feedback. The students are most interested in an exam right when they get it back, so being able to read through their mistakes and not just see a final grade…

When asked to be a participant of Student Service Learning I was very excited. I realized that I could help my community through my most familiar environment, school. After researching what it means to serve as a student there came a greater meaning to what I would be participating in. I want to base my service off of Maryland’s Seven Best Practices of Service Learning; and so far I think I have. Working in a classroom is much different than I thought it would be.…

Working as a qualified swimming instructor after completing the STA level two certificate in January 2016 has sparked my desire to undertake a career in primary education; seeing the children progress and improve their swimming during their lessons with me has been truly rewarding and has given me the passion and determination to take the skills I have learnt from my experiences into a classroom setting to provide children with the best possible education. I have learnt that patience is an indispensable skill as not every child responds when an idea is first explained. This has shown me the importance of being able adapt lessons to meet individual needs; whilst continuously maintaining a positive and encouraging attitude. This is essential…

There has been much to take away from this experience. I have learned a lot about myself, my teaching style, students, the pedagogical methods of teaching mathematics, and likely many other things which I have yet to process. At the onset of this semester, I chose two different goals that I wanted to reach as I progressed through my clinical teaching experience. Those goals were to be more flexible with the way I teach, and leave my comfort zone of direct instruction and involve the students more in the learning process. Throughout my time at Cedar Cliff High, I have been able to notice progress toward those goals each of different proportion but progress nonetheless.…

What is my goal, purpose, or vision as an educator? My main purpose for teaching is to prepare students with the knowledge and values, so that they can be used by God in great and mighty ways to bring glory to Himself and save souls. Someone once told me that everything we learn in life helps prepare and train us for God’s ultimate plan in our lives. This is certainly true in the lives of Bible “greats” like Joseph and Moses.…

General Philosophy of Discipline True discipline comes from the belief that teaching students to take responsibility for their behavior is more important than simply administering rules. Each child should be responsible for his or her own behavior choices. Virtuous chastisement remains essential for learning and should be based upon reciprocated respect for the rights and property of others, respect for those placed in positions of authority. No child should be allowed to jeopardize or interrupt the learning environment of their fellow classmate. Students should know that it is their responsibility to show proper conduct at on a consistent bases.…

When we enter into the classroom every day and prepare our lesson plans, we are doing more than just repeating material from a book. We are sharing our personal knowledge with those who will one day control the world. We put a little piece of ourselves in every student we encounter. Whether or not we actually influence them is up to the student. Therefore we must make every possible effort to make a huge impact on their lives each and every…

It was something I did not plan for. For instance in the listening micro lesson, some of them asked questions or asked me to rewind the audio file while they were supposed to be listening to it and do not disturb their colleagues. I have learned that I have to put some rules from the beginning of the session. For instance, I should tell students to write down their questions and wait till the end of the audio file. Besides, these like-real situations helped me to be more comfortable standing up in front of…
