After reading Turner Diaries, it could be argued that this novel should certainly be banned but mostly be prohibited for children but also for people troubled mental as it may give them some bad ideas to explore. The Turner Diaries appears to teach readers how to perform terrorist attacks as it provides exhaustive descriptive facts ; for instance, the use of bomb cars at the FBI building is the wrong way to approach. For any person in an extremist group would actually get ideas of how to terrorize any other group by use of the tactics mentioned by the book. But above all, the novel convey more hate and it is extremely crafted for propaganda function of establishing rhetorical identification with the reader

There is a plethora of justifications to ban books from school, such as offensive languages, sexual explicitness or even violence. There books that make sense to be banned as it is extreme to young child's eyes, such as 50 Shade of Grey by E. L. James, while there are books on the ban list that holds an educational value and should be taught to the public, such as Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. There is some book that contains a miniscule of sexual explicit and violence, but some of these books have a greater educational value than the insignificant scenes. The Invisible Man is a perfect example, since it does depict some scene of nudity, but overall, the book teaches the reader about open one mind to other’s point of view and with this can open a whole new world for the better. The Invisible Man educational values may have a different approach from most books introduce to school, but overall Ellison still demonstrates the moral of the narrative.…

In fact, Mark Twain, a great American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer does not think that books should be censored: “Censorship is telling a man he can’t have a steak just because a baby can’t chew it.” This shows that censoring a book is similar in this hypothetical by telling a person they can not read a book because other people can not handle to. This portrays that censoring books is blown out of proportion because one person might not be able to manage the maturity it takes to read the book, but it does not mean it should be banned for everyone else to be allowed to read it. The same idea is also represented by Oscar Wilde, author of The Picture of Dorian Gray, when he articulates that, “The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame.” This shows that when the world censors a book, it goes to show that they are to be put to shame for taking away ideas and morals into the world for it’s learning.…

Banning books because of what? “Never take a learning opportunity away from a student”, this was said by a character on the hit show, How To Get Away With Murder. Should we, as students, have the right to learn what what information books provide us, or should all questionable books be locked away from the world where no student can ever learn from them. Books are wonderful sources of information, but everyday, books get banned from schools for strange, and sometimes ridiculous reasons. Although In Cold Blood contains scenes of descriptive, graphic violence, it should not be banned because it isn’t the only source that writes about murder, and it is an informative book about a true story.…

Throughout high schools across America, this is a required reading for English classes. I think that these reasons are good reasons to ban the book but I also feel that it should not be banned. This book can open up a teen’s eyes to the world around them. People that seem ok can be struggling and this book teaches that you should not just go into denial like Beth, but you should be more like Calvin and take action when someone is down in the dumps. The profanity in the story I also believe is a positive.…

In every generation of students, there are always issues on the topic of banned books. The banned books are put into question because of its content, the certain content being something that parents don’t want their children to be exposed to. The book, 1984, by George Orwell has been one of the books that have been questioned. The book is about a dystopian society, and where the government controls everything its citizens do and think. The book is also about a thirty-nine year old man, so there would be some adult content and thoughts.…

Fortunately, for every group pushing for bans on literature, there are organizations that fight for this freedom. One such organization is the American Civil Liberties Union. In the year 2000, when discussing the topic of book banning, the organization stated that, “Permitting restraints on literature sets the stage for attacks on all expression that is artistically or politically controversial or that portrays unpleasant realities of life” (American Civil Liberties Union). Although some books may contain graphic violence or sexual content, and therefore of course should be kept out of the hands of children, I’d like to think that these widespread en masse bans of such literature are a poor way to go about it. It’s not as if middle or high school students are incapable of understanding and comprehending dark or more adult subject matter.…
