Marlowe not amused says, “She blushed and I have a dinner date with Darryl Zanuck.” (255) A couple of minutes later Marlowe states, “Does she have a steady?” These quotes show how Marlowe would rather have an irregular relationship with Gladys instead of a regular relationship. Marlowe was sneaked on by two thugs. Marlowe being harassed by one them states the following, “You can’t get away with it.” (267) When someone has no fear they clearly state their position and their mind. Marlowe did just that by stating the former. In that same situation, Marlow said, “"I 'm half full of good Scotch and ready to go places and get things done. Don 't waste much of my time. What do you boys want?" (267) When two men break into your home and they have guns, the last the thing you would want to do is aggravate them. Nevertheless, that is what Marlowe did because he does not like to show fear. Towards the end of the short story, Marlowe is assaulted by Waxnose. Marlowe convinced Waxnose to not kill him, but Marlowe did that by showing no fear; Marlowe stated, "I knew all along it was my lucky day. I 've been feeling so good."

The children must identify which item does not belong, and why. This task proves very easy, demonstrating that humans can easily single out an anomaly from a pattern. This theme corresponds with William Shakespeare’s play Twelfth Night, a romantic comedy with an outcast. The main characters, Orsino, Olivia, and Viola, entangle themselves in a hopeless love triangle and act without reason.…
