In an analysis that cuts across racial, ethnic, and class lines, Katz examines violence against women, day-to-day gun violence, mass shootings, gay-bashing, bullying, and American militarism against the backdrop of a culture that has normalized violent and regressive forms of masculinity in the face of challenges to traditional male power and authority. Along the way, the film provides a stunning look at the violent, sexist, and homophobic messages boys and young men routinely receive from virtually every corner of the culture, from television, movies, video games, and advertising to pornography, the sports culture, and U.S. political culture. When speaking about the media talking about the “Wussification of America” he presents how this term is often used in the news and the media but he only shows Fox news broadcasters which lean more toward the right winged side of the media and news. He presents the ideas of only fox news on this subject which shows that this idea was only presented by the more conservative side of the media. Though this is very telling about the right winged side of the media it does not present the left winged or liberal thoughts on the “Wussification of America” and therefore causes this issue to lose some of its credibility. Nonetheless, Katz presents a compelling argument throughout the film and succeeds in displaying the information
