“The Americans. They be attackin”. Time Enough For Drums by Ann Rinaldi is a novel that turns out to be very intriguing. Many events occur throughout the story and a lot with the character Jemima Emerson. In the book it’s in the time period of when war is happening and she is a main part in the situation. Jem in the beginning of the book is fifteen and has a tutor, and she has two brothers and a sister, Daniel (older), David (youngest), and Rebeckah (oldest of all). Jemima throughout the novel is childish, brave and affectionate, these three traits help her and her character through the war.
