Both Thomas Sowell and Michael Schwalbe think cultural change and adaptation are necessary to the social world but their views are different. Sowell, has conservative views while Schwalbe views lie on the liberal side. Sowell views are cut and dried (everyone should be treated equally), whereas Schwalbe views seem to be more flexible taking the situation into account (everyone should be sociologically mindful).

Michael Schwalbe is a sociology professor at North Carolina State University. He is also an author and participates in both, “The Good Man Project” and “The Common Dream: Breaking New Views for the Progressive Community” websites. Much of his research has been dominated by gender and inequality topics. As a sociology professor, he is committed to trying to increase his student’s “sociological mindfulness”.
