In the article, “This American Land,” Mr. Brooks describes the beauty of the land of America. He uses the poem of Walt Wittman “I hear American singing” for his pathos. People have lived and can relate to each of these ideals, they live next to nature and steroids and feel reverence for the mountains and tides, like breathing in and out the tides rise and fall each day, the seasons cycle with snow in the mountains and meadows in summer, and they can see such connection in biological and medical laboratories. At one-time environmentalism was the political force to make this connection and it was a good most all Americans appreciated.
