The wild weather in Adelaide continues,

A tourist has been reported missing following the heavy rainfall and stormy weather that begun Monday night.

The man was last seen being hit by a wave at Brighton beach, and is believed to be a European back-packer.

Efforts to locate him are underway, however the rough seas are preventing boats from searching the area until the storm clears.

On land, the streets of Adelaide are littered with tree branches as the wild weather continues, the heavy rain and wind shows no signs of stoping soon.

Before starting the articles, I wrote down and filled out an answer for each WWWWWH, I also created a structure of what I wanted to focus on in the article- starting with what seemed like the most important and the biggest audience pull. I referred to both of these throughout the process as a structural guideline. So that I understood both the audience I was writing for and the angle I would peruse.

I decided to target human interest in the first piece of writing, and focused on the outcome of the stormy weather in Adelaide as the weather itself had already been reported on.

Assuming the audience is Adelaide based is clear, however people interested in visiting or people on holiday could be part of the target audience as well. Especially as the articles would hypothetically be posted on the internet, because of the wider audience achievable through the internet: I made sure to use the names of days (Monday) rather than words like ‘today’ and ‘yesterday’- something that How to be a Journalist advises for online

If the name Headwaters Forest Preserve does not ring a bell, you might recall Julia Butterfly Hill, who spent 738 days between 12/10/1997 and 12/18/1999 in the tree affectionately known as "Luna," to prevent Pacific Lumber Company loggers from cutting it down. Pacific Lumber had been bought by Maxxam Corp., and they were clear cutting everything in sight to pay off the bonds they sold to buy this forest. Pacific Lumber, which had been doing sustainable logging for generations, suddenly became an environmental villain due to the hostile takeover. Senator Dianne Feinstein helped put together $380 million in state and federal money to purchase Headwaters, a pristine old growth redwood forest, within the Pacific Lumber lands, east of Eureka.…

DJ Cannonball’s weighty statement gets at the specificity of place and the spatial capital that came with having an apartment large enough to host South Shore house parties. It is possible that Black gay males were in search of apartments in South Shore because they offered the space needed for their parities as well as a closeness to and connection within the emerging community. This was a spatial network connected to racial, sexual, and class identity that offered the sort of interconnectedness between bodies and souls that I constantly noticed and felt as a Black Chicagoan during my observations at the various parties I attended with the Black house community. These were spaces where someone felt, included, acknowledged, welcomed, and linked through a synergistic energy that permeated the walls and bodies of those present. This is why house spaces are particularly crucial and require meticulous insights to ensure that the space feels like a house that becomes home for many.…

When the conditions are right, the soil beneath your home can move up against the foundation with sufficient force to crack and move it upward. Because your house rests on the foundation, this upward movement will damage the floor and nearby walls. The ceiling above the damaged walls will likely be affected as well. Upheavals almost always cause damage to both the house and its foundation, unless the entire foundation is lifted evenly by the same amount.…

This physical process which combine the inputs, outputs and interactions that effect could be determined in a system that acts together in shaping the coastal morphology. Variations in inputs could cause modification in the physical environment, for example, an increase in wave energy may enhance beach erosion, or a decrease in nutrients may limit biological efficiency, so that demonstrating all natural coastal operations are interlinked in certain way or altogether. The beach processes are greatly influenced by the physical changes that combines multi-parameters not only from the ocean but also the…

“This article examines thus the role of creative writing in understanding journalism. It argues that non-academic writing – poetry in this case – can play a much more significant part in journalism research than that of an entertaining genre for disseminating a study’s findings, mainly to audiences beyond academia” (Archetti). This is a whole article made just by contrasting two different methods of a subject. This same thing is being done in Twenge’s article and both are expertly done and adds great power to their…
