Some of the solutions that Eliot offers is to give, have compassion, and control. Giving is sacrificing something that you want for someone else, to put someone before yourself. Compassion is suffering alongside others, and helping them through their rough times. Control is not being in control of someone or something, but having discipline. People should want to take care of themselves, but also take care of the environment that they live in and the people they surround themselves …show more content…
We are so caught up in ourselves and making sure we have time to do activities that we are interested in, and not putting forth some time to possibly change someone else’s life. We waste more time on planning or figuring out what we must complete before a specific date. People are also deciding what they might do next week, instead of living in the moment and letting things work themselves out. While we are so concerned about ourselves and we forget to connect with people, instead people just look on social media to see what everyone has been up to. Which takes up a large amount of time that you could actually be having a face to face conversation with someone. When people interact with each other they connect more than just reading their latest post on social media. Also people are so consumed in their electronic devices that they become inconsiderate to the people that they are around. If people go out to dinner together they should put away their electronic devices, and interact with each other, instead of just looking on social media. In the end people will become more connected with each other and have an appreciation of the time that you spent together. Just like in The Waste Land people were together, but when they left each other there was no remanence of them being there or having a good time. Then when the two people left each other they had no connection with each
