In the play “The Visit” the plot starts off as an innocent, forgotten, poverty stricken town, close to ruins; falls to desperate attempts; to revive itself to its former glory. The story is broken down into three acts, each act giving more explanation in the little town and how it got to the state of disrepair that it is currently in. This play pulls at emotional, moral conflict, revenge, sacrifice and choices for the greater good. The story also shows that things are not always what they appear to be at first glance. The rising action and climax with this particular storyline were surprising and entertaining.

Most people have heard money cannot buy happiness. This story goes to show how that can be true. With all the success that was had, the injustice suffered left a void that could not be filled. That can lead one to do things that they do not want to do, to try and release that pain, or to feel numb and not have feeling. As the story progressed, the hero turned antagonist, turned victim is exciting, not sure who was right by the end. The author leaves that to the reader to decide. Leaving that to the reader, lets them explore their own thoughts and their own truths, and experiences. How do they feel about the entire situation? It’s always easy to say what should have or could have been done, but it is different when it is actually a reality for
