In the video of “Trials of Life- Growing Up it shows that when baby Florida Scrub Jays are born two parents search for food for the young. As well as older siblings stay around the young help raise the new babies. Florida Scrub Jays helpers help with fending off predators by fighting the predators and being on lookout for them. With all the older birds around the new young it helps them get food and to survive other animals trying to hurt them.
Not every type of bird has this many helpers watching out for young that is not even theirs. A reason why the Florida Scrub Jays take care of young that is not theirs is to increase the survival rate of their own group. Sticking together protects the young and all the other birds from predators. Being
