The tragic Orlando shooting was brought about by pro-life advocates who are “inciting hatred and violence,” according to a pro-abortion campaigner.
In a blog entry posted on Sunday, pro-abortion blog Rewire’s editor Jodi Jacobson accused pro-lifers, conservatives, and Christians of sowing the seeds of violence and terrorism in America. Life News called the move an exploitation of the Orlando tragedy and a push for their agenda.
Jacobson initially argued that while many people say, “This is not who we are,” America has become a place of violence and hate. She said this sentiment is aspiration for a nation in which politicians exploit “morality” and intolerance to win campaigns.
The statement is also aspirational for a country that condemns Islamic

Ingalls 1 Cody Ingalls Professor Rhodes Introduction to Ethics April 15th, 2017 Case Study The debate surrounding abortion rights presents many ethical dilemmas, and is rarely a black and white issue, which makes it difficult to label all abortions as moral or immoral. Many people who are opposed to abortion are willing to support it in certain situations, such as in the case of rape, incest, or the endangerment of a mother’s life. One of these situations is described in the case study “Conceived in Violence, Born in Hate,” an overview of a rape and assault victim who was forcibly impregnated and decided to carry the child to term. The case raises interesting questions about the morality of abortions in the case of rape, and the autonomy of…

Dade’s Massacre Government policy of Indian removal would be seen by the American people as not only reasonable but essential to the interest of America. President Monroe has stated flatly that they should be removed or concentrated within narrow limits so that those slaves trying to seek sanctuary within the Seminoles territory was against in ever senses the capital investment of slave owners, because the Seminoles just simply saw them as men and women. This made things in the south difficult, so in 1823 the limits of Seminoles land had been change to the Seminoles being pushed into the swaps of Florida some 60 miles wide by 120 miles long. With these prescribed limits it will need and some degree the exercise of authority with an overwhelming…

Many people know in 2012, a horrific massacre took place at Sandy Hook Elementary killing 20 children and 6 faculty members. However, what many people do not know is the amazing women who prevented countless deaths from happening that day. A worker turned on the intercom so everyone was aware of what was happening, a teacher died trying to hide her students in a closet, a clerk led 18 children on their hands and knees to safety, then gave them paper and crayons to keep them calm. Principal Dawn Hochsprung was killed as she attempted to confront the gunman early on in the shooting. The death toll could have been significantly higher if it were not for the selfless acts of these ladies who were killed trying to save the children.…

The article “America Wasn’t Built for Humans” written by Andrew Sullivan, was quite an interesting read. With living in a society that seems to be more divided by the day, it is difficult to wrap around a conclusion as to how our society has pushed to such polar opposites. Throughout this article Sullivan brought up many ideas relating to this issue and how our society has naturally shifted through the idea of tribalism. Throughout the following paragraphs I will reflect on how I agree with Sullivan and his ideas that relate to issues our society faces today. Andrew Sullivan began the reading by showing how we instinctively are drawn to the people our identity represents.…

Obama delivered this speech at the memorial service for the victims of the shooting in Tucson, Arizona on January 8, 2012. This shooting killed six Americans and injured thirteen: one of the injured being congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (Aufses). Obama’s speech is not intended as an emotionless way to communicate information but rather to comfort the people touched by the event, as well as to guide them in how to handle their sorrow. He is able to create such an effective jeremiad by clearly presenting an ideal behavior for Americans; Obama says that Americans should strive to be better as a result of the loss of their loved ones (Obama). He goes on to describe the way in which the United States has fallen from those standards simply because they are so caught up looking back at the past: building resentment for those who have hurt their loved ones and seeking revenge .…

Did you know from Roe v. Wade in 1973 to 2011, about 53 million legal abortions were performed in the United States - an average of 1.4 million a year? The debate over whether or not abortion should be legal continues to divide this country today long after the Supreme Court’s 7-2 ruling on Roe v. Wade declaring the procedure a fundamental right on January 22, 1973. There are three different views on the issue of abortion: the extreme conservative view, the extreme liberal view and moderate view, which lie in between both extremes. The extreme conservative view, identifying themselves as anti-abortionists (also known as being pro-life), contend that personhood begins at conception, therefore abortion by their definition is homicide. The second view on the issue of abortion is the extreme liberal view.…

If it is true that tragedies come in threes, then the death of American democracy is surely inevitable. The trio is affecting this nation is evangelical, paternalistic and sentimental nihilism; a toxic combination of institutionalized practices and behaviors that perpetuate systemic racism and imperialism. The threads of nihilism were woven into the fabric of America since the values of the nation were conceived in the Constitution. The architects of this paramount document set a precedence for faulty democratic tradition as they struggled to consolidate the assertion that “all men are created equal” while simultaneously deeming slaves to be worth three-fifths of a person. Much like the slaveholding land capitalists, America’s contemporary…

Alongside lecturing racial oppressor thoughts, the far right has been unbelievably savage. One of the perversities of American history is that there has been more dread of the left (the Black Panthers, the Weather Underground) than the much more vicious right (the Order, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Militia development). From the death of radio host Alan Berg to the Oklahoma City bombarding, which executed 168 innocents, the privilege is all the more ready to utilize savagery, and more dangerous when they do as such. Late conservative mass murder scenes incorporate Wade Michael Page's 2012 assault on a Sikh sanctuary in Wisconsin, which slaughtered six; Frazier Glen Miller's 2014 focusing of Jewish people group focus in Kansas, which executed…
