Throughout episode four of the TV show “The Wire”, I was able to see how all the stories come together to a very important stage of the plot, which is the interaction of the school system, the government, and the students. The school system and the government are completely separated, although the school side claims to have everything “under control” in order to not affect the elections process. The school does not have the resources or the desire to keep working on the education of these children. It is evident that these kids are aware of the malfunctioning of the system and I really believe that that’s is one of the reasons why they don’t even try.
