Penn took the time to send “Anonymous e-mail addresses, unsent messages accessed in the draft form” in order to communicate with El Chapo . After Guzman’s successful 2nd prison escape, he did not plan on going back to prison. In fact he was willing to work with Penn to help write a movie about the drug lord himself. Through out the interview we are able to see how much of a normal person the drug lord really is. The truth is to be unfolded, as Guzman shares with the world his final thoughts before being captured and sent back to prison. After years of being blamed for deadly crimes and having a drug addiction, Guzman has been sober for more than 20 years and does not believe in violence. Pedro Aviles was one of the very first few people to begin trafficking drugs in bulk. Aviles invite El Chapo to be apart of his business because Guzman was willing to do anything in order to makes some extra money, so he can help his mother out. If Pedro Aviles didn’t exist, El Chapo would not be who he is today. Regarding Aviles being killed in a police shoot out, his death would take a twist that linked more Leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel to cocaine distributors in Colombia. For a while, everything was running smooth, until a Mexican trafficker killed an undercover DEA Agent. This made El Chapo the face of the Cartel and was wanted dead or alive by police and other gang members. Year’s later after El Chapos first arrest, the Sinaloa Cartel lost its leadership creating turf wars with other Cartels such as the Zetas and Gulf Cartel. Due to the loss of leader ship, The Sinaloa Cartel became one of the most horrific cartels in Mexico who did not hesitate to kill any cartel member that steps in their way. At first it was all about profits in drugs. The Cocaine that was distributed from Colombia through Mexico was sent to The United States.
