He is called the prince of darkness. The father of lies. The adversary. He was even called an angel of light. The Rolling Stones in a song called him “ a man of wealth and taste.” He tempted Jesus in the wilderness “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship to me.”[Matthew 4:9 ESV] Saint Anthony the Hermit was reputed to wrestle him, but it was the archangel Michael that God put in charge to remove him from Heaven. Most people know him simply as Satan. Evil has always held a mystique that transcends personal morality and social convention. Whenever I hear in the news of children being killed, “good” people being corrupted or suffering from a natural disaster I know it is not Satan that caused these hardships. The Bible teaches us in Matthew 15:19 that man 's nature is one “of the heart comes evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, slanders.” The Bible also explains why mankind must endure“hardships. “ Test, trials, persecution, and suffering are to test our faith. Satan will only attack or try to corrupt Christians to make you doubt your faith. There is no need to attack a non-believer. However, Christians need to be aware of what I call the false Christian. False Christians are people who go through the motion’s but have never accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. In my opinion they sown the seeds of doubt, allowing just a crack of doubt to enter in one’s heart. Once inside the individual can be manipulated by…
