In the podcast, Serial, we are shown many sides of this case against Adnan Syed for murdering his girlfriend, Hae Lee’s. When first looking at this case the listeners and context questioning the motives of everyone, and many would agree that Adnan is innocent as we question many arguments that were made on his trail.

Firstly, Jay's testimony. In the podcast we hear multiple times, that Jay was scared, as he should be, he said that he helped his best friend cover up a murder. However, his story has many parts where it brings us to question him, and what motives he truly had to criminate Adnan. When looking at his testimony, we can see that there are clear times when he says “Adnan then said….” or “Adnan told me…” these are not acceptable in court and something that he lawyer would have brought out. We also hear his manager at Best Buy, saying that he was scared after the murder, saying that someone was following him, talking about the white van that he saw. This doesn’t make sense, because Jay told us that Adnan did this alone, and not with a group. So who were these people in the van that he said was following him? This entire case was built on one testimony, of what this man said. No one

I personally believe that he is not, as, besides Jay's testimony, which most parts are hearsay, there is nothing else connecting them to the murder. When looking for information on this case, I saw many different types of medias to see what happened, and what was going on, my personally were short videos made my youtubers which were straight to the point and talked about why he was innocent, as I was able to see a visual while listening. One thing about this case is undeniably certain. Jay is somehow connected to the murder of Hae Min Lee. And I have an aching feeling that he is closer to it than he is letting on. Jay’s stories do not add up. Could be that they’re never the same, could be that his friend’s stories are fishy too, or it could be that he is trying way too hard to appear innocent.…

There is no physical evidence that Adnan committed the murder, just assumptions and theories that led to his imprisonment. Jay, Adnan’s best friends boyfriend, tells the cops that Adnan had let him know that he was going to kill Hae. He also states that Adnan gives him his car and cellphone but who does this with someone you don't really know. There is no true evidence here. Jay even lets the cops know he helped bury Hae’s body.…

Why should Adnan Syed be considered innocent? In this investigation, a man named Adnan Syed was accused of murdering his girlfriend, Hae Min Lee. His old best friend Jay, said he witness the dead body of Hae after Adnan killed her. Adnan should be considered innocent because, during the murder of Hae, Adnan was seen at the library by Asia Mclean, wasn’t that upset about the breakup, and was a smart student who wouldn’t kill anyone after they broke up. First, Adnan is innocent because Asia Mclean and her boyfriend saw him at the library.…

There is too much leisure time in the way Jay has described the timeline. Also, if Jay is telling the police that he is innocent and Adnan is guilty why wipe the fingerprints and throw the clothes away. The payphone must’ve been somewhere else. Jay probably forgot how the day went for there to be leisure time. He probably did not want to be involved in the first place and did not want to go to the cops at first.…

Being guilty “beyond a reasonable doubt” is the highest standard of proof in any trial, especially in criminal trials where a defendant can be deprived of his or her liberties and even result in his or her death. This principle, however, is often forgotten with the presence of strong religious beliefs and rising emotions following violent crimes. Directors, Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky, in the documentary film Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills (1996) takes an insider look surrounding the trials of three teens who were accused of brutally murdering and sexually assaulting three eight year old boys in the Bible Belt town of West Memphis, Arkansas. The accused, Jessie Misskelley Jr., Damien Echols, and Jason Baldwin would…

Mr. Gilmer’s Speech Gentlemen, the plaintiff has enough evidence to identify the guilty of Tom Robinson now, and I would like to use my remaining time to remind you the essence of this case briefly. First of all, our defendant, Tom Robinson, is already known that he was given thirty days once for disorderly conduct as he confirmed because he fought with another man, and in that fight knife as a lethal weapon appeared. So we can see that this nigger’s nature is fierce and cruel. Let us think, as a cruel nigger with previous conviction, Tom Robinson is possible to do other things to hurt other people, he is likely to rape a young lady led by his desire.…

Even with all of this in mind, the court sees him as the main suspect and is not dissuaded by his normal persona. They pin him as Hae Min Lee’s killer by using the jealous boyfriend stereotype.
