Sharia Reasoning In Islam Essay

In response, a number of Islamic scholars publically signed the “Open Letter to ISIS” that was directed at the members of ISIS and the leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi. Through this roughly twenty-three page letter, the publically known beliefs of the Islamic State are refuted. The actions and words of the Islamic State have painted Islam as a brutal and merciless religion. In the name of Islam, many have been slaughtered and mutilated. Despite this, traditional Sharia reasoning does not provide any room for the Islamic State’s bloody interpretation. Rather, Islam presents itself as a merciful and welcoming religion. As such, this letter presents the merciful, unoppressive, and welcoming nature of Islam by virtue of the Sharia reasoning used to refute the Islamic State’s fallacious interpretations. The following refutations are thus done through Sharia reasoning premised on references …show more content…

This type of takfir cannot happen, as Muhammad even stated that proclamations of faith are to be taken at face-value. If they proclaim this principle of oneness, they cannot be declared non-Muslim. According to the Quran, 2.190 “Fight against those who fight against you in the way of Allah, but do not transgress, for Allah does not love transgressors.” This simply means, if they will not go peacefully, or if they start the fight, then defensive actions may be taken against them. Another verse declares that if you kill even one innocent person, then it is as if you killed all of mankind. Quran 5:32 “Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs.…

There are some Muslim extremists that interpret the Quran in such a disgusting manner but that does not mean all Muslims interpret it in a way which preaches terrorism. As the Muslim community rapidly grows, hate and rage against such a peaceful religion is becoming worrisome. Those who are ambivalent towards the matter should acknowledge it is extremely dangerous to paint a population of 1.6 billion with the same brush. Islam derives from peace, it means peace, it is full of peace. One must judge the religion by the true interpretation of the Quran not the actions of those who supposedly follow it.…

Iftikhar(2016) reported Imam Zaid Shakir who said that in Islam there is nothing called honor killing and killing blameless women just because they did not follow their parents’ wishes is like cold-blooded murder and “ there is no legitimate Islamic religious authority who can argue”. Actually, all religions oppose honor killing, and some people are using the term “Islam “ in order to justify honor killing even though there is no support of it in Islam. So, people are creating and reflecting bad pictures about their religions, especially Islam, through their horrible acts. Moreover, if Allah tolerates people who did wrong things and sins, then who are we in order not to tolerate others and kill them? Actually, if a girl dishonored her family, it is a sin, but killing her is a larger…
