Islamic Sex, Fighting Jews to Return Islamic Sex to the World was a 115 page manual that explored polygamous group sex between the husband and all of his wives. This manual also suggests that wives be subservient and submissive to their husbands during sex. This subservient attitude is credited to being a form of protection against the angels curse claims co-founder Darlan Zaini (Gibson). Islamic Sex, Fighting Jews to Return Islamic Sex to the World also suggests that wives act as high class prostitutes in order to extinguish the husband’s sexual desires. This manual was quickly banned by the Malaysian Islamic affairs Department due to its degradation of women as well as its inaccurate Islamic views on sex. Sex is a topic not allowed to be discussed openly let alone publically in the Islamic faith. The Obedient Wives Club pushes the issue that women should indulge in sex with their husband whenever he so desires. Would that not require women followers to succumb to sexual encounters even when they do not consent (Kinabalu)? In the eyes of the Obedient Wives Club, rape is something that simply is impossible when you are married. The president of the Obedient Wives Club, Fauziah Ariffin, stated, “You said that you love your husband but when he wants your service, (and) you do not want to give… is that love?” (Fadli). This statement is in direct violation of Section 375A of Malaysia’s penal code as well as Article 16 (1) (c) of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women’s (Cedaw) Human Rights Commission. Section 375A of the penal code establishes that if a husband attempts or receives sexual gratification from his wife by force may be subjected to five years in prison if convicted. Article 16 (1) (c) of CEDAW’s Human Rights Commission also declares that a man who does in fact sexually violate or rape his wife is subject to criminal charges

Dr. Gregory also advises women to stop expanding their knowledge if they intend to get married because men find educated women to be unattractive and abrasive. Wollstonecraft blatantly opposes this piece of advice and continues to support her belief that an educated woman makes a better wife and mother. According to Dr. Gregory’s advice a marriage is a system of slavery and as women slaves are incapable of attaining their virtue. For reason to rule the household, arbitrary power must be eliminated – both men and women are fully capable of reason as their souls are the same. Women’s tyrannical behavior is simply a response to the oppression of their husbands and these behaviors can be completely avoided if women are not seen as the “submissive charms” and given the same educational opportunities as their male…

I wished my mother warned me about this night, about the powerlessness a woman feels when another man strikes through her skin, about the shame that fills her when she is forced to give herself up, forced to be still.” This type of patriarchal philosophy and belief about male-domination of sexual relationships is appallingly common in cultures that are misogynistic. In Quiverfull: Inside the Patriarchal Christian Movement, Kathryn Joyce sheds light on this horrifying phenomenon. “A submissive wife understands that, as the Bible commands that husbands and wives have authority over each other’s bodies, she owes her husband enough sex to satiate his appetite so that he is not tempted by another woman. In this way, a woman withholding sex from her husband is not only defrauding him of that which is rightfully his but is inducing him to sin” (54). Although Joyce is specifically referring to fundamentalist Christian patriarchy, the patriarchal attitude regarding sex is applicable to different religious and cultural beliefs.…

Not only was she represented with the attribute of being beat like a prostitute would, there was also a incident in the book where the uncle forced his wife to have sex with him. “‘No, your holiness, for the sake of the Prophet. No, this is sinful.’ Then his stifled tones hissing back: ‘you woman, you....What sin, and what Prophet? I’m your husband and you’re my wife.’” (38). This again shows how women unwillingly gave away their bodies in return for things.…

Date Rapè"(Atwood 42). This shows how Atwood sees the lack of interest and action taken to solve the issue of rape. In Saudi Arabia, it is illegal to marry a divorced person. Saudi is where Atwood gets a few inspirations shown by the many similarities between the two theocratic societies. In the book, Offred reminisces about seeing Luke before she was married to him in which she says, “ Though at that time men and women tried each other in, casually, like suits rejecting whichever did not fit”( Atwood 56).…

. By making women the “gatekeepers” of sex society sets up the idea that women are expected to be responsible for men’s sexual behavior. This mentality can lead to both mental and physical aggression toward men and women. In this particular scenario women lose the ability to say “Yes” as society believes in the purity of women and the outward expression of sexuality in women as unnatural. Men also lose the ability to say “no” as they are believed to have a natural drive for sex all the time.…

From all the bad things that happened to Cotton, he above all people would be expected bear hatred and anger towards Jennifer and not forgive her shortly after being released from prison. If I were in Cotton’s shoes, I am certain that I would not have the heart of wanting to talk things through with her leave alone forgiving her. I would have sued her in any way possible and make sure that she would rot in jail for making me loose ten years of my life. In relation to forgiveness, I was not surprised however by how Jennifer was unable to forgive herself because of what she made Cotton go through. It is indeed the human nature to not forgive oneself for causing harm to another.…

This patriarchal, Colombian society was preoccupied by a woman 's virginity. The Vicario brothers actions were deemed excusable by general society as Nasar did the Vicario family a great dishonour through having sexual contact with their most eligible daughter. “So he put the knife in his hand and dragged him off almost by force in search of their sister 'slost honour.” (pg. 62) The brothers preoccupation with their sisters virginity is inherently sexist as they have not considered their sisters right to be sexually intimate with whom ever she chooses and choose to believe their sister as women are perceived as being honest and pure. By doing this, Nasar had no way to defend himself and was subsequently murdered.…

In this letter, there were questions the church of Corinth asked and one was about man and woman relationships. Paul here states that it is plainly not good for man to touch woman as it leads to other lusts.
