Pacino Revolution Film Analysis

I’ve chosen to analyze a film for my research project by director Hugh Hudson called Revolution. Revolution was released on December 25, 1985, through Warner Bros. Entertainment and was produced by Irwin Winkler and written by Robert Dillon. The main starring casts are Al Pacino, Donald Sutherland, and Nastassja Kinski (IMDb. “Pacino Revolution,”2016). Al Pacino is one of the many actors I admire in the industry because of all the glorious movies he’s been in, such as Righteous Kill, The Godfather, and Scarface etc. Which explains the reason I chose to analyze this film. A captain gave Tom a note that said that he should receive at least seventy dollars for the boat including all its valuables. Tom at the time realized he wasn’t going to win his boat back, so he ended up going back to city to form a line to receive some money. Tom notices a little parade going on in the background. While waiting in line Tom ended up losing Ned in the crowd. Once he found Ned he realized he enlisted himself into the “American Army” he had no other choice, but to enlist as well. I noticed two unusual things when I came across this scene. First, there was no such thing as the “American Army” at the time it should have been called “Continental Army” (“Mount Vernon”, 2015). Second, crates from the movie where labeled “USA” which made no since because we weren’t even the Untied States of America at the time.
