Many people have suffered from psychological conditions, but none of the conditions are to cause great alarm. Some disorders are mild lasting within minutes and requiring no treatment at all. For instance, most people have experienced a mild dissociation without even noticing that’s it’s a psychological disorder. The case of daydreaming or getting lost in the moment while in the middle of an engaging project. Most people experience these situations on a daily basis, but they are just normal situations. A severe form of dissociation known as Dissociative identity disorder is considered a serious medical condition which requires immediate attention. Many people have experienced this disorder due to serious experiences in life that affected their psychology. Sybil is diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder after losing herself several times. In the moments when she loses herself, she switches to another person of different age and characteristics. These people she turns to are sometimes children and a baby who cannot even speak. Her other selves are different from one another, and one is a paranoid little girl who has suicidal thoughts. Most of the times these other people do not know her, or if they know her, then they are afraid of the real her. Sybil is also forgetful. She forgets things that shouldn’t be forgotten by an average person. The forgetfulness is often not linked to any other cause such as medication or drug abuse. Sybil is referred to a psychiatrist who she introduces all her selves to and the psychiatrist successfully treats
