Sabina Essay

Sabina played a big role in the development of the movie. She was the center of Jung’s and Freud’s disputes and psychoanalytic advances. Sabina suffered from attacks that she could not control and did not yet know the root of. She was disobedient, disorganized, and sort of manic. Jung began to treat her by sitting her in a chair facing away from him so she was able to be honest and answer questions accordingly. She was describing her abusive father and she believed her attacks were brought about by humiliation. Eventually Jung was able to identity that Sabina enjoyed the medical field and told her she could be involved; he chose her to help with his “research.” Jung was running tests on his wife who was pregnant and had Sabina help him measure. …show more content…
I think using Jung’s pregnant wife is unethical and not a proper way in testing a therapy because of the bias and expectations. Sabina was a great patient and eventually became a psychiatrist herself, but the fact that Jung was unable to see her solely as a patient also added an unethical dynamic. A therapist should not engage in sexual acts with their patients. The therapy and the results become compromised. Freud and Jung had conflicts stemming from religion, their egos, and their desires. If the two men would’ve been able to work together, they probably would’ve reached a middle point where Freud’s methods and Jung’s ideas were incorporated. Jung liked Freud’s ideals because they seemed to be right sometime, but he believed that there had to be an explanation and more t the patient than a sexual desire or repression. Freud was complacent with telling the patient what he thought and that was the end of it. Jung wanted to be more engaged and offer more- he really believed there was more to use sexual innuendos. Their disagreements were an obstacle for psychoanalysis, which in turn affects more than just the two

Mansa Musa did not go on his hajj just for religious reasons he also went on the hajj to show the people of Africa how wealthy and powerful he was. One of the documents that show that why he didn't just go for religious reasons is document A, where it shows all the supplies he brought on his trip. It shows that he brought over 24,000 pounds of gold for alms giving, gifts, salaries, and supplies, even though he would have used the gold for these purposes, he would have probably only have used almost half of the gold for those purposes. Instead he would use it to give out to all the citizens of egypt and other towns and villages, and this is true because he didn't have any other remaining gold and if it was a religious journey he wouldn't bring 24,000 pound of gold to give out to all the people and stop his religious journey.…
