The Queen gave the knight two conditions, to die or to answer a question. So the knight chose to answer the question "What is the thing that women desire most?” So the Queen gave him a chance to answer the question in 12 months and a day. Then, the knight started to begin his journey to look for the right answer to the queen's question that could spare his life. The knight went to a lot of places, went through a lot of challenges but he failed to find the answer until the day before the deadline when he is riding his horse and he passed by a lot of girls dancing or having a party. So the knight went down from his horse and walk near the young ladies and suddenly they all vanished except from one old lady. The knight chose to love the old lady and when they kissed, the true face of the old lady appeared, she looks so young and beautiful. Using the chivalric romance both of the stories contains the wise and just ruler elements. Theseus in The Knight’s Tale and the Queen in the Wife of Bath’s tale. In the knight's tale, there are two men fighting for a woman's love, while in "The Wife of Bath" a man was forced to marry a woman that he does not want or love. The man in the Wife of bath’s tale takes advantage of women and does not really appreciate or love them, while in a knight’s tale the two men, Arcite and Palamon fought for Emily’s love. Arcite and Palamon fought so they can prove who is more worthy for Emily’s hand or Emily’s love. Both of the stories also had ceremonial events elements in the chivalric romance.
