The more attention Katniss gets, then Katniss will able to survive in The Hunger Games. In the novel, Collin writes “Katniss the girl who was on fire” (Collins 67). In the quote, the audience sees Katniss and already starts to love Katniss outfit that Cinna designed for the debut of the opening ceremonies. Cinna wanted to make the audience to like Katniss by telling Katniss just to be herself but forget what Haymitch said about how Katniss looks like. The book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins shows a horrible life for many people that could soon become a harsh reality for the American people. The government in The Hunger Games controls the people in the Districts by constantly surveillancing them and having a militarized protection force. Most of all, though, the government in The Hunger Games took total control of all weapons in the country of Panem. While Katniss is explaining the situation with the Capitol she mentions, “My father could have made good money selling them, but if the officials found out he would have been publicly executed for inciting a rebellion… But the idea that someone might be arming the Seam would never have been allowed.”…

In Suzanne Collins ' The Hunger Games, the Capitol serves as the nation of Panem 's government. By instituting a division of power, demonstrating their power, and establishing a police force, The Capitol 's ideals of a utopia became corrupt and, as a result, were transformed into an oppressive system of government. It was only through the dishonorable actions of their leaders that caused the system to fail. Perhaps the ideals that embodied Panem were contorted in a way that all evidence of morality had been erased?…
