Congestive heart failure is a disease in which the heart is unable to adequately pump the blood of the heart to the rest of the body, and thus the blood is not circulated properly. The blood that is not circulated can do a backward overflow into the lungs, and create problems breathing. Congestive heart failure thus can create edema, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, coughing, and fatigue. The problem that a lot of the elderly congestive heart failure patients deal with is being readmitted for symptoms of heart failure frequently.
