Pump begins by with the history of oil, It was first used as a fuel to light up Kerosene lamps. It was latter discovered that oil could be used to run the internal combustion engine. During the early days of the horseless carriage engineers where trying to figure out what type of fuel would be best, Engineers came up with the electric car but it was to expensive and the range was short, so the idea of an electric car soon died. Henry Ford tried to make alcohol the main fuel for the combustion engine but John D Rockefeller who control 90 Percent of the U.S oil saw this as a threat to his monopoly and used his power and influence to help pass a constitutional amendment banning the sell and distribution …show more content…
In America it had an immense impact, unemployment grew at a rapid pace, and all over the country the were very limited to oil, in some parts you could only by ten gallons of gas or only every other day or have to wake up at four in the morning to go get gas at the only station that had gas and it usually was out by eight. the documentary main point was to let the viewer know that there were choices out there to fuel our vehicles like electricity, Ethanol and Methanol. Majority of people don’t realized that their vehicle are capable of running ethanol methanol and gas all they need is a flex fuel vehicle or install a simple and cheap software
