The section has an examination of supporting evidence or contradicting conclusions, and suggestions for the further research. At the end of the discussion section, all the findings are joined together and summarized in a final statement. The Oracle paper has a complete analyzing of the evidence except for suggesting further research and possible contradicting conclusions. It seems that the purpose of this paper was to reinforce a previous claim about the Delphi oracle made prophecies after being under the influence of a gas coming out of fissure. The researchers explain the ethylene gas was responsible for the oracle’s prophecies and unusual behavior. The discussion portion did not bring up the opposing argument of this claim. However, it did at the beginning of the paper. The discussion was confusing to figure out. It seems the researchers did not have a separate discussion section, but made their conclusions included in the materials and methods
