Please welcome…. Mark Haddon! Mark Haddon: Thank you for the invite, it's a pleasure to be here. Jimmy: Thank you for coming! Jimmy: To start off i'd like to commend your work on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime. The mystery murder novel is written through the eyes of Christopher Bonne which began following the murder of Wellington, the pet dog of Ms Shears, his neighbour. As Christopher nears the truth, his investigations unravel the personal mysteries within his family and revelations of lies and deceits begin to unfold, that lead him to question what he believes of the relationships intertwined in his life. Your use of the unique protagonist Christopher sees the world in black and white, truth and lie, a person oblivious in the face of irony or crude of humor enlarges into the enlightening peek of his genius and his vulnerability. Mark Haddon: Mh Hmm, I wanted the novel to not only unveil the peculiar idiosyncrasies of an individual with Asperger's syndrome but also communicate the onerous responsibilities in which he nesses.
