Jayn A Narrative Fiction

Improved Essays
Jayna had hardly slept in two days, she had intended on resting only until noon, then she, the unicorn and 23 would began the journey to Minos. The sun was low in the sky when Jayna was awakened by a shout, the neighing of the unicorn and the sound of a sword being drawn from its scabbard. She leapt to her feet and drew her own sword. A big human male with a sword squared off against 23, while a short man with his back to her, with broad shoulders and long arms faced off against Corny with a pole.
Jayna yelled, “STOP!”
The would be combatants paused and looked her way.
The big man shouted, “JAYNA!”
The short man said, “See I told you she wasn 't dead.”
That 's when Jayna noticed he had an extra eye.
23 lowered his club and said, “Goddess, what

Jayna didn 't want him to blow her cover so she lifted her finger to her lips and gestured for silence. She watched 23 until he was out of sight in the trees of the forest.
“Who are you and how do you know my name?” Jayna asked the big man .
The man looked at her like she was crazy, “Jayna, you know who I am, what are you playing at?”
Three eyes joined them and said, “She doesn 't know us Henry, both she and the unicorn have lost their memories.”
Henry looked at her for confirmation and she sucked in her bottom lip and nodded her head. The fifteen year old felt free at last to let her fear and insecurities show.
Jayna began rambling, “I don 't remember anything, I don 't know where I am or how I got here. The last thing I remember is walking home from school. I don 't think I 'm on Earth anymore and there 's a unicorn and a talking pig who thinks I 'm a goddess, dinosaurs and the flying something and she thinks I 'm a goddess too and she 's expecting me to come to Minos in case it doesn 't work out with the witch, but...”
Elmer 's ears perked up when Jayna mentioned the witch, but now was not the time. Henry was speechless and confused, so Elmer stepped in and hugged the frightened

You shouldn 't have done that, her past...”
“Is dead and gone, she is who she wants to be.”
“But what about...”
“It 's loose Henry, and it 's looking for the Witch of Morpheus. Fortunately for us, it was gone before Jayna found out where she was.”
Something dropped out of the sky and landed beside them.
Elmer said, “The Goddess is currently unavailable Fanna, she 'll be headed for Minos in the morning, I 'm Elmer and this is Henry and I 'll tell her what you said.”
“But I haven 't said anything yet!”
Elmer grinned and said, “It doesn 't matter, I 'm back, we 'll be there two nights from now, goodby Fanna.”
The confused night flier leapt into the air and flew back the way she had come.
Henry opened his mouth to speak, but Elmer spoke first.
“Yes, Goddess, it 's a part she must continue to play for now, send the unicorn for 23, she 'll be awake before he gets back and he 's getting restless.”
“I wish you wouldn 't do that,” Henry said. “We straight-timers find it rather rude.”
“Sorry, I 'll try to control myself, at least part of the time. Lend me your ring again, I need to talk to

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven. Lately, I’ve found the sound of crashing waves, wind brushing through my hair, and the slight smell of salt hitting my face very soothing ever since I had met my best friend, Percy Jackson.…
