Wes could have done better in school if he had been going when he was supposed to. Wes is now living with his grandparents and his mother is working more than one jobs to support her family. Wes writes ‘it’s tough to do well in school as an eleven year old when you’re picking and choosing which days to go (p.76)” Wes needed someone to be strict with him and make sure he was going to school and he would have been better at school. By living with his grandparents who are low on energy no one was looking after him at a young age. In my opinion he was not to blame for that. He is just a kid he needed someone to force him to do better in school. Soon after Wes stopped attending school he began to find trouble. Wes had been placed in hand cuffs for spray painting.
