For they may say, the Lord did not appear to you. The Lord said to him: what’s in your hand? A staff, Moses answered. God used the use of the staff, his hands becoming covered with scales then cleared again and he instructed Moses if there two signs don’t work then take water from the Nile, pour it on the dry land . The 6 Chapter of exodus really give a good understanding of how God used Moses by saying to him Moses, now Pharaoh for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.
