The book I read was called The Awakening. Throughout the book interesting things happened. The book is about a young woman named Edna Pontellier. She has a husband and two little boys. As the book progresses Mrs. Pontellier strays away from her husband. She starts to fall for a different man named Robert Lebrun. Throughout the book Mrs. Pontellier tries her best to be closer to Robert. However many different things block Edna from being with Robert Lebrun. Mrs. Pontellier dreams about being with Robert. However Robert leaves for Mexico before Mrs. Pontellier can tell him how she feels. After Robert leaves Edna meets different men that all take a liking to her. Although none of them make her feel like Robert does she starts having a relationship …show more content…
The only thing keeping him back was that she was a married woman. That if Mr. Pontellier was to give her to Robert then they could be together than Mrs. Pontellier tells him that if they each thought that she could be passed around like that they were crazy. Although Robert has come back into her life Alcee Arobin is still in love with Mrs. Pontellier. Even though he still likes Edna she only has eyes for Robert. So when they start hanging out again Robert starts acting different he isn’t very talkative. So when Mrs. Pontellier asks him about it he says that he never wrote a letter to her because he was trying to forget her. He also said she was a married woman. After he tells her his reasoning for not talking to her and acting the way he did they spend the rest of the day together. Soon while they are still with each other Edna has to go see someone Robert tries to get her to stay but she goes anyways. Whenever Edna gets back home Robert is gone he had left a note before he left saying I love you goodbye because I love you. Edna gets upset after this because he left without her knowing and didn’t wait for to get home. So she goes over to Victor’s house at Grand Isle, she asks him to make her fish for supper but while he is going to find the stuff to make it she goes out to the beach. She takes her clothes off and walks out to the ocean and doesn’t turn back
