From reading this, I see the importance of choosing a career that I will enjoy for years and years to come. As we discussed in class, work will consume the majority of time in our lives. I wouldn’t want to spend 40 hours a week at a job that doesn’t fulfill most of my interests or simply makes me unhappy. Also, it’s apparent from the interview that she thought through various options and her path wasn’t a straight line, which is particularly important to me as a psychology major. I hear from many people that a B.A. in psychology is useless, and I am constantly asked what job do I plan on attaining after graduation. I don’t have the answer and I feel like that’s okay. I have certain skills and interests that I want to pursue such as becoming a guidance counselor or a special education teacher, but who’s to say I will see myself in one of those careers for the rest of my life. I will definitely try and pursue what I want to, but once I experience it, if it doesn’t feel like a good fit for me, I won’t be afraid to pursue often options, and I feel like that’s a main point to take away from this interview; options are important. Furthermore, this relates to my life as a college student because I’m utilizing my resources to find what’s meaningful to me by allowing myself to experience different course electives not seemingly related to my major, all with the hopes of determining what topics I like or dislike or
