Nine-year-old Louise Belcher is the youngest of three children. She is a fourth grader who attends Wagstaff School alongside her brother and sister. With an ethnic background of French/Canadian/German/Greek, she is a lovely young lady with jet-black hair and fair skin, it is clear who her parents are. Today, Louise has been brought in by her school counselor Mr. Frond, who is worried about the safety of the school.

Louise lives with her parents, Linda and Bob, and with her older siblings Tina and Gene. They currently reside above the family run restaurant named Bob’s Burgers and they seem to be a very close family. As the baby of the family, Louise tends to use this to her advantage according to her father; whom Louise seems to be particularly fond of. According to Louise, her father is her “favorite person” and that up until she turned eight years old, she called him “daddy”. She says, “on Fridays dad and I will stay up, when everyone else has gone to bed to watch T.V. and play the dissing game.” When asked what that game was she stated that it was, “where you mute what’s playing and speak for the characters…but you have to be mean.” They play this game now, because she is to “old to build couch forts with him anymore”. Even though she frequently refers to herself as “older” she wears a set of pink bunny ears that have become a part of her identity. According to her family, Louise is rarely seen without her hat and if she is without her hat, her head is still covered by something. In other words, the hat seems to encourage one personality or ego of Louise. Mr. Belcher stated that if Louise were to lose her hat, it would definitely be considered as a huge stressor.
