Pillar had killed people in the most heartless and confusing way, for instance, he convinced a man to kill himself by jumping off the Tom Tower. It makes one wonder how could he have possibly convince a man to to jump off a building and why did he convince in the first. He also killed a man with laughing gas, he forced a laughing gas mask onto his face and made him laugh til his insides bled. In Alice in Wonderland he is just a caterpillar that is rude to Alice, in insanity he is a sociopath that is trying to help Alice save a little girl that the Chesire Cat has captured. “Who in the world am?(30)” Alice asks herself this question throughout the book when either something in her about her past is revealed, or when her life becomes increasingly abstract.
