It feels like I’ve been in this institution for five years now, it really has, even though it was really a couple months. The place is filled with phony’s and I wanted to get the hell out of this goddam place. Anyway, I was reading this book old D.B. gave me when he visited me last Saturday. It was pretty good. It was called I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. I would tell you what’s it about but I didn’t feel like it. I didn’t feel like anything in here. They had a lot of people in here trying to help you and all, but it didn’t work for me. The only time I felt happy was when old Phoebe visited me. The last time she was here, she told me about the play and how great it was. I wasn’t there sadly, but she told me all about it in very nice detail. That was two months ago.
Anyway, while I was reading, someone knocked on my door, it was Jack. Old Jack was one of the security guards here. He is pretty muscular for someone so old. He always wore a hat to cover his bald spot, but you could still see it from behind. “Hey Holden, you gotta visitor” he said.
“Visitor?”
“Yes boy, be out in five.” He left with the door open.
I hated the word boy, especially when Jack says it. He says it every time when he needs to tell me something. It annoyed the hell outta me.
I just sat there, staring at the ceiling. Who could it be? I mean, no one really visits me unless it was my parents or D.B. The more I laid there, the more I wondered.
Anyway, it was time to leave my room, if you could call it that. Down…
