Genre: The genre of this book is an autobiography. It is told by Frank as an adult telling his memories of him as a kid.

Plot Summary: In this book it talks about the life of a kid, Frank, living with his parents and eleven siblings. The parents want to be as sufficient as possible with their lives, and that is why they wanted so many kids. The parents want to raise their children to be kind and have respect. The dad brought home a typewriter and he wanted all the kids to learn to type on it. He would bring down a pencil right on their head if a kid made a mistake. They gave so much detail on this part that you could create a picture in your head.

Foreshadowing: The foreshadowing in this book is when the dad said he has never had a sick day in his life and then later he pulled a prank on the kids that he was sick but it was only red ink he drew on his face. It was foreshadowing because he said he was never sick so he could pull that prank.

Figurative Language:
Simile- ” I’m living through what can only be described as a hell on earth.” This is a simile because it uses the word as to compare two things.
Metaphor- “Don’t be a pig” This is a metaphor because it does not use like or as but still is a comparison.

Why I Selected This Book: I choose this book because I wanted to find a funny book and Mrs. Fenton suggested it to me. I thought it would be interesting to read about a kid living with eleven other kids.

Book Review: I would recommend this book to anyone because it is an all around funny book. It is an easy read, and easy to understand. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 because there were some slow parts but it picked up

Molly Bang Paper When thinking of this assignment, I immediately knew which book I was going to choose. I felt that choosing a favorite book from my childhood could be a fun way to see the differences in how I viewed it then, and how I might view it today. As a child, I was in love with Mercer Mayer’s “Little Critter” books (and still am today). I decided not to go searching for an easy or popular book, rather I wanted to take one I know and love and see if/how Molly Bang’s principles were applied.…

I have chosen Question One: Emile Bronte’s Wuthering Heights discuss how an attention to figurative language can help in an analysis of literary texts as I enjoyed reading the text and the many qualities that made it such an enjoyable read. When we read something we usually take it as it is but that is exactly what figurative language is not. When we read certain expressions or words with a different meaning it is known as figurative language which is different from literal interpretation. Figurative language goes beyond the meanings of the words that we read which give us, the readers a greater insight into the piece. There are many types of figurative language such as symbolism, metaphors and similes which are all seen in Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering…
