Bless Me Ultima, Should it be banned or not? The Book Bless Me Ultima, By Rudolfo Anaya has been causing so much controversy all over the U.S. Students, teachers and parents all over schools have been wanting to take the book off of high school students having to read it because for them it is inappropriate, sexually explicit, too much profanity, and also shows a lot about religion. Although many students, parents, and teachers might have different perspectives of the this book some may believe it teaches ,important live lessons or even shows how a person can struggle no matter at what age. Yes, some of the scenes in the book do contain inappropriate things. But most of these scenes don’t happen in real life other than Antonio’s dream. His dream includes his brothers entering the Rosie’s house ( where the prostitutes live) in his dream he sees his brother going inside the house and Antonio can almost see the inside of it. The other scene is where Antonio sees a cow and a bull mating but that is all natural in the animal world. Although all of these reasons are why people everywhere are trying to ban the book there are people out there with different opinions of the book. Moveover, there are many supporters of this book and why it should not be banned. Many teachers believe that this book should not be banned because the book talks about the right and wrong in the world also about the good and bad in people like strangers and even the people close to you. And because some of the people might have similar situations just like Antonio and the others in the book. Where they have to deal with the world.
