The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) is a highly effective organisation run by and for people with a disability and provides a range of services and support programs to assist in addressing specific needs such as their safety and security, their sense of identity, education, adequate standard of living,health and employment opportunities for people with disabilities. AFDO provides vital policy advice and representation to both governmental agencies and organisations on issues impacting the lives of people with disabilities. Beyond this, AFDO actively engages in educating and enlightening the broader community about disabilities.
