There are so many art muesems in the city of Austin, Texas, that it is was difficult to choose one particular one. Although there was one muesum that stood out to me the most. The Austin Art Garage caught my eye becuase it was colorful and the art they have is more modern and around my age group. I also was intreged by all of the "Austinite" artwork they posted on there website. When i first went to the muesem I imeditly thought how cool it was. Very modern and colorful. Just tons of artwork on the walls. Every corner just caught your eye. The first artwork i chose to review was "Where Pillows Come From", by Brian Phillps. This artwork was a painting on old salvaged wood. He painted a chicken body broken down into catagories, but instead …show more content…
The art is called, "Absrtact 1", by Larry Goode. This picture is a Monotype on a paper canvas. It is manly all yellow with some bright yellow dots and at black abstract object in the middle. My first impression of this piece was that I felt and overwhelming feeling of being so calm and relaxed. The fact of the dark black line in the middle surrounded by all of the yellow and yellow spots almost made you feel like you could do anything despite the darkness that is around you. The design elements of this paper were a bit more tricky as to there is not much to the picture. The medium of this picture is a monotype on paper. The picture is a more dainty smaller size ( 8" by 10"). This picture is very soft and uses lighter hues causing it be more pastel. The texture is very smooth. He used a very organic shape, he painted using emotion and feel. He does not use and lines in this picture. The picture is very content and calm. Very expressive without having to be harsh or full of design. I think that the artist was trying to convey that in the midst of a darkness light still over powers and shines. The feeling of this painting is overpoweringly calm and relaxing. His light strokes, slight blurriness, and chose of softer colors all played into his idea of creating a softer picture. My overall judgement of this picture is that it was well thougtout and full of many possible emotions. He did a great job on this artwork and was perfect for

The way the colors kind of flow and contrast all at the same time. You can see the shapes of hands next to faces showing people gathered together in a group. They look as if that are dancing. The texture looks a little random which makes since with it being a collage piece. You can see the crisp lines of there the image was cut out and then pasted on the canvas.…

In the past week I visited Museum of Art's and Sciences also known as MOAS. Walking through this exhibit a few pieces of art caught my eye. The art work Florida Dreamscape VIII 1984 by Steven Lotz in the Florida paintings really drew me in. Looking at this painting done with Liquetex acrylic on gesso board really spoke with color. The wet liquetex acrylic gives the painting a very wet stature.…

This painting almost describes the beginning of creation in the book of Genesis, which states, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” (Genesis 1:1-2, King James Version)…

The artist utilizes many elements of composition, such as, line, texture, and color into his painting that gives the pipe a unique shape. The line quality is fantastic, it is so neat and precise. I was impressed with the how precise the lines were and how well blended it was because with some of my paintings that I have painted in the past, that was what I struggled with the most. The mood that this painting carries is a mysterious cool edge feeling it allows the audience to think outside the box and create an interpretation for…

This was definitely the most simple of the displays put here because all of the paintings were lifelike and easy to decipher because they were also more straightforward and seldom open to interpretation unlike the photos in Concentrations 60. Overall, visiting the Dallas Museum of Art was a new and exciting experience because its exhibits really opens one’s eyes as to how art alone reflects different periods of time, cultures, and places around the world and evolves as does humanity. Moreover, it shows how art does not come from culture, but creates it and often evinces the psyche of its…

Haywain by John Constable Is a painting filled with stillness and balance. The atmospheric perspective gives it a dark natural look, you can feel the presence of the intensity it carries. The picture itself is filled with mystery and depth since the trees and the dark shades interrupt that. I think that the clouds can define circular design since there's a vast area of them on the top of the picture. There's a certain emphasis towards the pond and the person next to it.…

This room had nothing but photographs all around. They had a huge section of the wall that was compacted with different photographs of the same time period. As I moved across the wall and continued to walk I was hit in the face with a stunning, beautifully carved archway. This archway led into an itsy-bitsy chamber that was filled the shelves and glass. On the shelves were pieces of art from all over the world, where I found my first piece of artwork that I absolutely loved.…

Also, the mixture of warm colors on top combined with primary and secondary colors give the painting a delicate effect particularly the three green brush strokes as it adds even more mystery to the painting. Furthermore, the diagonal lines that shape the floor and the barriers of the bridge and the curved lines on the water make a combination of energy and endlessness at the same time because the side of where the scared looking person is, looks completely different from where the water, which is what perhaps reflects the degree of anxiety that the scared looking person was suffering in that particular…
