Atomic Electronic Chip (APA) Science and technology, these two things go together like a polar bear and ice. One simply cannot exist without the other. With so much pressure on scientists and engineers to build better, more sophisticated technology, there is also a strong emphasis on size. Everyone wants so much more power and performance, but without the bulkiness that inevitably comes with it. Since the first commercially sold cell phone in 1983 (Seward, 2013), advancements in technology have been able to reduce the size of cellular devices significantly. The size of the phone from 1983 was over 14 inches long, and it did not even have a screen (Seward 2013). There have been so many discoveries and breakthroughs within the last 10 years that people even 11 years ago would have said “no way” or “that’s impossible” yet here it is. The possibility of sequencing the entire human genome, flat-screen TVs, and even self-driving cars, are all made possible because of the enormous advancements in technology. The simplest things that the next generation will take for granted such as the internet, or cordless phones, things that came to be only 26 years ago are major milestones in this age of science and technology. People said living on another planet would be impossible, yet NASA has already come up with project MARS to colonize Mars within the next 20-30 years. The point is no matter what idea comes to light, nothing is impossible if the time and effort is put in. The breakthrough of atomically small electronic chips was put to the test against the old fashioned Si microchips, and beat its predecessor 2 times out of 3. It needs some work in the cost department but quality and applicability are off the charts spectacular. Some people might still be sceptical about whether or not this idea will take off. But as stated before, anything is possible if enough time and effort is put
