One of the most famous quotes in the trial is when Socrates says, “The unexamined life is not worth living” (Plato) can be interpreted as life is not being lived if one does not question everything being said done and what is beyond the physical world. Socrates accepted his punishment of forced suicide by Hemlock poisoning because unlike everyone else he was not afraid of death. Since his knowledge was far extensive than anyone else in Athens, he knew that there is so much more to life than what is physically present. While living his life the way he wanted to live not the way the orderlies wanted them to live Socrates was able to explore far beyond what was being told.
