Abstract

In life people face many challenges and fight adversity everyday. The world is full of surprises and you’ll never know what you’re going to get. The 100$ start up by Chris Guillebeau presented and showed many quality traits of how an individual might deal with work related problems and turn them into successful business opportunities. An individual must be passionate about their career field he or she chooses, and must be willing to sacrifice anything to help that business maintain and grow. Being passionate and enjoying what you love to do will carry through out the work field and help your business strive and become more successful. The 100$ start up by Chris Guillebeau elaborates about how Chris Guillebeau travel around the world viewing and studying many individuals who had descent jobs where everything seem to be going as planned to losing everything, and ending up with nothing. The concept is to show the audience that you can turn something into nothing if you put your mind to it. Throughout this paper I will discuss the many cases in which Chris Guillebeau conducted around the world and explain his journey and the views of others that made an impact on his life and the world. The book the $100 start up by Chirs Guillebeau is about a man name Chris Guillebeau about the age of over thirty who went on a tour around the world to find people who was like himself who started a business that made them over 50,000 dollars.

Chris went around the world to researched and interviewed people who started their business from nothing by at least 100 dollars or less. Chris Guillebeau never had a real job and still collected a paycheck. The money Chris Guillebeau receives goes for his journey across the world and to help other people who are less fortunate.
The people Chris Guillebeau interviewed really didn’t have special skills but they focused on what they were passionate about which help them become successful. Through out his study of each individual interview Chris Guillebeau discovered that each person learned a valuable lesson through their journey and that all you really needed to have business is a product and a service that people are willing to pay for and you’ll be successful. These stories are cumulated all together and will be further discussed throughout this paper. First story is about a man named Michael Hanna that worked for Nordstrom in Portland Oregon as a veteran sale professional. Michael Hanna handled many emails and spoke to several clients about Nordstrom’s products. He was on the plan to handle a big pitch to make the company a huge sell until he went to his office were he noticed a box on his desk. His boss told him to pack his stuff and that he was being let go because of economy reasons. Michael Hanna was fired. The boss didn’t care if he had a family or had to pay bills Michael Hanna was let go from the company. Michael Hanna was now unemployed and collecting unemployment checks to help pay his rent and take care of his family. Michael Hanna was lost on his next step in life as he applied for many jobs and couldn’t find anything. The hunt was becoming difficult until Michael came across a friend who owned a furniture store. Michael’s friend had some leftover furniture that was offered to him so that he could sell on craigslist to help pay his bills.

A person can go from an idea to a start up in a short amount of time for less than 100$.
