There are many good qualities out there to have. There is a combination of having certain ones make somebody likeable. Without them a person isn’t as generally likable. Now that doesn’t mean they aren’t liked. And it certainly doesn’t mean those who have these qualities are liked by everyone. It just means they are liked more easily than those who don’t have those qualities of Honesty, Compassion, and Courteousness (Traits found on the article “The 10 Best Qualities in Any Person” written by Cathryn Conroy). Honesty is the best quality to have. Honesty is when you tell the truth. Don’t cheat on tests or in relationships. It also means no stealing, figuratively or real. It is hard to sustain any relationship without it. All relationships are built on trust, and if either person is proven not trustworthy they erode the foundation right out from them. In the essay "The Insufficiencey of Honesty," the Stephen L. Carter divides his essay into three major categories. One category mentioned in his essay was titled Telling Everything You Know. In this category, he discussed how being completely honest can be negitave because it can cause harm and place burdens on others. I completley agree with this statement because there are some things that should not be mentioned in respect of other people's emotions. Ultimately, this shows that while an individual is honest, they may not be displaying integrety at the same…

Many people who lie do it to protect another person or to save a person from getting offended (160). Many would argue that no one has the right to decide for someone else whether or not they should be denied the truth because they may get offended. It may be considered evil to leave someone in the dark of something that could be completely life changing because, it they may not take it very well (161). No one would consider being polite to be immoral. If a person cannot stand to be around someone and pretends to be that person’s friend when they are around, that would be considered deceit.…

In “The Ways We Lie” by Stephanie Ericsson she discusses and breaks down the activity of lying into different kinds of lies. Ericsson goes into great detail of about 10 of them, but there are many more. Some lies are for your peace of mind and maybe still bad for both parties, and some are for the better of someone else’s feelings. Ericsson believes that even if you feel you are perfect, nobody is and still tell lies no matter big or small, we do it and at times are unaware that it is considered a lie. Individuals nowadays get to a point where they are lying and don’t know whether to believe themselves or others.…

you find telling the truth way more easier than it is to tell the lie or “sweet talk” your way out of it. Lies no matter how big or small are going to add up and get much more confusing in the end. When speaking out on the truth its half of most people’s instinct or in my cases it’s not, but after a while and you focus on not telling lies it becomes nearly too almost impossible to lie .Someone or something gives it away and they are left already knowing. Like for example if there was a surprise dinner for someone at work and the person you are throwing a surprise to ask what are you doing for the weekend you say I have this surprise dinner I have to go to and you were just being honest and everyone was trying to be secretive about. If you are an honest person most people will come to you about information or feedback.…

In the New York Times article titled “How Honesty Could Make You Happier”, Judi Ketteler explores the effect being truthful has on her own morale and happiness/satisfaction. Ketteler’s 6-year-old daughter once claimed that telling truths made her feel “gold in her brain”. Inspired by this, Ketteler decided to test her daughter’s theory by keeping a truth journal. For several months, she recorded any instances that prompted a choice between truth and lie, and then noted how telling the truth made her feel.…

Honesty is the avoidance of knowingly deceiving yourself or others. Honesty means not lying, cheating, or stealing, whether it is done with malicious intent or not. This holds true even in situations where dishonesty seems like the easy way out. Perhaps one of the least considered, and possibly most difficult, aspects of honesty is being honest with oneself. Everyone has moments where lying may seem like the easy way out.…

The purpose of the questionnaire is to find which of the 24 character traits are your strengths. The survey is 240 questions long and is comprised of a series of statements, most of these statements ask how much you think the statement sounds like you, but several of them ask how other people see you. After taking the test, it listed several of my strongest character traits, the top 3 traits being perspective wisdom, self-control and self-regulation, and love of learning.
