The article, “Teens Who Fought Hitler” by Lauren Tarshis Describes the hardships Ben and his Jewish family faced when Hitler and his Nazi army rose to power and made life extremely difficult for the Jews. Ben and his family lived during one of the darkest periods of time, the holocaust. They were hated by their neighbors and a large amount of their country. They had to survive of of little food and live in a very small space with sickness and death raging their city. Although Ben survived he had to live through unspeakable horrors and challenges, needing all of his courage and bravery to persevere through them.
