In the TedTalk, by Alison Gopnik it talked about how babies think. Gopnik used many test in order to verify her theory. To understanding their minds, she gives the adults broccoli and gold fishes and they acted as if they were more into the broccoli then the chips. So the 16 and 18-year-old months’ baby where told to give the adults either the broccoli or gold fish back to them according to the one they showed the more preference. Then later on the test the research turned into an evolution, they found out that there is a relationship how long the child hood a species have and how big their brains are in their body and how smart and flexible they are. Evolution shows that as babies they are only required to learn, take up knowledge and feel protected but once we get older that is when their knowledge and all the information we obtain gets put to the test. As Alison Gopnik stated, “Babies and young children are the research and development division of the human species.” The babies brain or know to be the most powerful learning computer on the planet. It was proven that 4-year-old are more likely to find out the hypotheses the adults. It is typical for a child to experiment when they are unsure of things. Babies and children seem to have a more lantern conscious then adults, the con is that they are very baby in narrowing down one things but the pro is that they can take in a lot of information form a lot of sources in once, they use their brain plasticity. So when people say that babies are bad paying attention it is the opposite they are bad at not paying attention. “Researchers scanned the brains of 87 healthy newborns 211 times, starting when the babies were only 2 days old” (Gholipour 2014). This shows that babies’ brains are more active and react faster then adults brain. That is why they overthink things when they are given something that they are unsure
