The Ted-Talk I chose is Throw out the checklist childhood by Julie Lythcott-Haims. The Ted-Talk discuss the pressure for young teenagers to outperform, and why a checklist or being a “tiger mom” during parenting is not the best idea.
She supports her claim by gauging the crowd on their stress level, the crowd being current Gunn High School students, which is a high school known to be a high-pressure environment. By gauging the crowd not only does she keep the audience’s interest but she also proves her point, many Gunn students are under lots of pressure and are raised in an aggressive education environment.
