The music helps keep the watcher interested as they get hooked to the catchy rhythm, increasing the chance that they actually watch the entire video to get its full message and effect. The fact that the music is also upbeat and has a lot of instrumental, compared to music that is slow or is just acoustic provides the listener with energy and makes whatever their watching seem much more happy and interesting. This helps to make the audience more invested and interested in the idea of becoming a vegetarian. For the image aspect of the video, I compiled together a combination of videos that created a smooth story or flow of idea to make it as easy to understand as possible. All of the videos were selected or created to make the video as interesting as possible, while also enhancing the image and idea of what I was talking about in the audio. The first video for an example, is of Rob Williams singing in a funny way about being a vegetarian starts off the video in a very light hearted and interesting way. From the beginning you know that the video will be about vegetarianism, but is given off in a very friendly way enticing the audience to keep on going. While the videos of me in the dining hall and getting food from uptown help to show that vegetarian options are everywhere and are just as good as meat based dishes. Using youtube as a medium, means that my audience will be corresponded to the younger generation that uses platforms like youtube on a regular basis, while the topic of discussion will shift it away from the very young kids that still frequently use youtube, but aren't as interested in the ideas of diet and climate change. Though this is a somewhat narrow demographic it does open up my audience significantly from my my original paper on the topic. The paper was written in a scholarly format analysing the rhetoric of the Hill’s Ted Talk. This would correspond to a larger age range than my youtube video, but would fault in its scholarly format that would only reach a small
