2001: A Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubick)
To me, the film raised more questions than it answered. Roughly it shows humans have conquered the outer space. On the moon, a monolith is mined whose origin and material are unknown, this monolith sends a signal to Jupiter. The space ship Discovery is sent to advance to the destination of the signals. Two of the team are awake, the rest of the team is sleeping. The board computer HAL 9000 is becoming more and more of a threat.
For me as a Sci-Fi enthusiast it is almost an impudence not to have seen Kubrick's 2001 yet. Now, after watching it in class, I realize, however, why I delayed viewing this film for so long
Without dissolution, it is almost impossible for me to conceive the background of this film. Apart from this, Stanley Kubrick offers us a stunning and stylistic masterpiece with his mammoth work.
